Religious Education

Holy Name’s Catechism program has as long and as deep a history as our parish itself.  Our goal is to create an environment of classroom learning and “faith” experiences that educates our school age children about Jesus and the Catholic faith.  Important to that mission is preparing our children to receive the sacraments of Penance, First Holy Communion and Confirmation.  Our program tenants are “Faith, Fun and Fellowship”.   We are blessed with wonderful Catechists, Parish Clergy and lay staff who are dedicated to our to children’s development as faithful Catholics.

We work hard to bring all that Holy Name of Jesus Parish offers to our children.  The children of the program and your family have many opportunities to participate in so many programs from Children’s Liturgy Committee events, becoming an Altar Server at Holy Name (school grade 4 and above) or future Junior Lectors.

We encourage our existing and graduated children to be active Church goers and participate in our faith.  Attending Mass regularly is vital to one’s spiritual growth.  Everyone plays a part in our faith community, Parents, Grandparents, siblings; we invite your entire family to join us at the Holy Name 10:30AM Family Mass on Sunday.  There are no better teachers and example setters than the family.

Catechists and Volunteer always welcomed:

The Holy Name School of Religion is in need of volunteer teachers and classroom assistants. Everyone is welcome.  High school juniors, College students - this is a great way to earn community service.   It is so gratifying to grow the Universal Church by opening the faith to others; we find often that you receive back more than you give.
